Bill Sturm serves as the Senior Pastor at Sandy Ridge Baptist Church of Hickory, NC. Previously, he served as the Associate Pastor of Berean Baptist Church in Fayetteville, NC following almost nine years on active duty in the United States Army. He otherwise specializes in Chaplaincy, World Religions, and Church History. His most recent formal education was the completion of his Th.M. from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary (2014) and the Army’s Command & General Staff College (2021). He was saved out of “Sinner’s Prayer”-ism and placed his faith in the finished work of Christ alone in 1999. Full assurance of salvation since that time.

Bill has felt the burden of ministry most of his life, having preached as a 5th grader to his peers in childrens’ church at the request of Rollin & Barb Ager. He is a student of Scripture, family, the flock, friends, planting stuff, building stuff, and electricity. He enjoys His Bible, sharing the Gospel, napping, war, ethics, politics, and soccer. He serves as a Chaplain in the United States Army Reserve. His greatest challenge is his prayer life. Preaching Christ is His passion. He is happily married to Nikki–his wife of nearly 25 years, and they have three children, two wonderful children in law, and three grandchildren.
